The Jewelry Tree

November 26, 2008

This was a fun one. I came up with the idea when my little brother kept runing my jewelry when I left it in the bathroom by throwing his things all over it. I was never happy with the way traditional jewelry boxes worked so I had an idea. This particular one is a “prototype” made out of model clay that I found to, more or less, despise. For the futire I will make more out of real clay that will be fired, and I would make it taller so that it better hold neclaces, then hand paint it. It is rather versitile considering I had about 4 minutes to form it before the clay was un-workable. It holds rings, bracelets, earrings, even body jewelry of various gauges. there are self like parts and even “branches” that are available to hold earring backs and extra body jewlery pieces

I have been told that I have a good sense of humor. Humor has a positive effect on the soul. I make art to express all emotions but mostly humor, as well as to inspire others. I enjoy taking colorful, craft like materials and piecing them together; forming creations that are not only pleasant too look at but useful. my inspirations come from the stories that play out in my head based on music, people and the world around me.
